About Us

Lake City Yacht Club (LCYC) was incorporated as a Minnesota nonprofit organization on the 23rd of June 1969. With one hundred fifty boats in its fleet, the members are residents of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. It is located at Lake City Marina, Lake City, Minnesota. Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River, is the primary boating venue.

The purpose of this club is to

  • promote the participation and enjoyment of Yachting, both sail and power
  • encourage Racing, Cruising and all other activities related to yachting and contributing to its pleasure or the promotion of its future
  • foster a knowledge of seamanship and all related subjects
  • promote an understanding of the Rules of the Road and Yacht Etiquette
  • encourage in juniors an active interest in Yachting
  • maintain suitable Club quarters and facilities for the enjoyment of its members

LCYC has proudly supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as its primary charity for over a quarter of a century. Its annual Sal for Leukemia fund raising weekend forms a cornerstone of the club's season.

LCYC is a proud member of US Sailing, the Yachting Club of America, and the Lake City Chamber of Commerce. We are delighted to work with young people at Lake City Sea Scouts - Ship 001, YMCA Camp Pepin and ELC Red Wing. LCYC will continue to promote youth sailing and as opportunities become available.
