Introducing the "Armada to Prescott," a new LCYC cruising event born from a great idea shared by one of our thoughtful club members. The concept is simple: many boats in Lake City haven’t yet made the trip up the river, and doing it alone can feel like a big step. But traveling together as a group makes the journey far more approachable, fun, and confidence-building.
While similar in spirit to much more ambitious cruising rallies like the ARC, the Armada is entirely our own—designed to help sailors experience a longer river trip in a safe, relaxed, and supportive flotilla.
Why Join the Armada?
Cruise in company instead of solo
Build confidence in longer-distance travel
Get introduced to the cruising side of LCYC
Meet fellow sailors and make new connections
A great mid-season way for newer members—or prospective members—to try out the club’s cruising culture
Dates: July 10–12, 2026
While there is no cost to participate, this event is supported by our experienced member community, who will plan ahead to help ensure a fun, well-organized, and safe journey for everyone. For that reason, participation with your own boat requires active Lake City Yacht Club membership.
As the event approaches, we’ll share additional details including suggested departure windows, navigation considerations, and marina or anchoring options along the route.
If you’ve been curious about cruising beyond your usual waters—or are looking for a relaxed, supportive way to experience the LCYC cruising community—the Armada to Prescott is an ideal opportunity. Sail as part of a flotilla, build confidence and skills, and help launch a new club tradition.
