A two-day open regatta hosted by Lake City Yacht Club
Lake Pepin, Lake City, MN
Lake City Yacht Club invites sailors from across the region to race the widest stretch of the Mississippi. At roughly two miles across and twenty-one long, Lake Pepin offers the kind of open, steady breeze and clean racing water you don’t expect to find on a river — and the Pepin Open is our invitation to come find out for yourself.
Over two days of racing out of Lake City, fleets will sail under PHRF handicap, two races each day, with courses announced at the skippers’ meeting. Whether you’re a seasoned campaigner or sailing your first open regatta, there’s a place for you on the line. The regatta is open to all monohulls with a valid or assigned PHRF rating, and visiting boats from outside the club are warmly welcome — we’ll do everything we can to help you launch and feel at home on the lake.
Each day begins with a skippers’ meeting at 9:30 AM at the LCYC clubhouse, with the first race start at 11:00 AM. Stay for the Pepin Open Social!
